To make the glasses case, you’ll need these simple fabrics: a square of plastic craft foam or substantial dull needles, lanyard thick or lace yarn. Cut two rectangles from your foam, each 3-1/2 inches (9 cm) by 6 inches (15 cm).. Using an entire punch, make holes on three sides of every rectangle, leaving one short side perforate. Make the holes let at least 1/4 inch between the hole and the border of the craft foam. The holes have to line up so that the two bits could be laced together. If you’re getting ready the craft for kids that are little, you need to make the holes yourself. For those who have sufficient pairs of whole punches, the crafters can perform this step.

At this time decorative forms can cut from some other colours of craft foam, or you also can purchase sets of ready-cut foam contours. If the craft is being done by you in a specific occasion, like vacation Bible school, pick contours that echo the subject of the big event. For example, when camp or the Bible school has a cowboy motif, find contours that fit nicely, including cowboy hats boots, and stars. Allow the children pick the contours they paste and enjoy on as desirable. You may also like to supply paste on as well, particularly if the crafters are a little old with sequins or beads.

The following phase in this arts and crafts idea will be to string the plastic needle with all lace that is lanyard or the yarn. Yarn may be a little simpler to manage, but lanyard lace is appealing and glossy. As a needle, a bobby pin is used by some teachers of little kids in a crunch. It’s definitely a safe option. Just loop the yarn and utilize the open end of the bobby pin as though it were the point of the needle. The kids are now able to start to lace rear and the front of the glasses case.

To turn this arts and crafts thought right into a necklace handbag, just attach of lace that is lanyard to every corner making a very long handle. Children will love applying this case as a location to put away secret notes and things that are little. When they had rather, the glasses case can be given by them to some parent, grandparent, or friend who wears eyeglasses. Either way, this arts and crafts thought will probably be fascinating for all.

Jokari Expanding its Line of Houseware

It was at the 2010 International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago when Jokari unveiled its Healthy Steps collection of products the company touts as helping consumers eat healthier through portion control.

Today, nearly a year later, the company is expanding the Healthy Steps assortment with the forthcoming debut of several new products to the successful line. The new products will be officially introduced early next month at the 2011 Home + Housewares Show.

(At right, Jokari’s Healthy Steps Pasta Basket.)

While specifics on all the new products will be available in the coming weeks, Doug Taeckens, Jokari’s president and chief executive officer, provided a glimpse into some of the new items to be added to the Healthy Steps assortment. “We will have about eight new items added to the line,” he said.

According to Taeckens, one new product is a lid that is designed to mount on a variety of salad dressing bottles, allowing consumers to fill the lid and measure how much dressing is being placed on a salad. Another item is designed to hold a lemon or lime and puncture the fruit allowing consumers to access the juice inside. A valve included with the item is then used to plug the hole and the fruit can then be stored in a refrigerator for later use.

Development of the Healthy Steps assortment began in 2008 with an idea hatched by Cindy Pruitt, Jokari’s vice president of sales. “We had some product development discussions and felt we could develop the line and tap into the growing healthy eating trend,” Taeckens recalled.

Following some consumer research, Jokari’s initial Healthy Steps assortment included about 20 items. Among the best sellers is a serving tableware set that includes a slotted spoon for vegetables, a solid spoon for various starches and a spatula for proteins; a pasta basket; and a water infuser that allows lemons and various fruits to be neatly placed in a pitcher to flavor water.

Those products such as the items in the serving set that measure the amount of food being consumed follow guidelines from the United States Government.

To promote the Healthy Steps line to consumers, Jokari is utilizing social networking outlets such as Facebook and Twitter and also has a dedicated website for the product line. The company is also now working with Nutrisystems and is providing its serving set as a give away for those customers of the popular diet plan.
